Let's clear something up.

I came here to splatter. Is the ratio of signal to noise, is the figure-to-ground relationship, the static to song ratio, the push pull of all of this clear???? Ink jet and laser printers may shpritz ink but there's something inert, dead about this stillborn (once upon a time) miracle marking. By mangling, cutting and pasting, the doctor frankenstein or perhaps doctor FRANK-UHN-STEEN  or perhaps REANIMATOR thing happens. But add india ink and all that toner jolts to life. LIVE I DEMAND.

it's all about the process. until it isn't.

it's all about the process. until it isn't.

That's too complicated. I came to splatter.

When you add regular ink marks to printout messy collage something happens. The inert toner and bristol board open up. Space frees up.

I'm flooded with remembered lines like "The picture plane is a situation". Or "I like to grab the viewer and move everything around. It may not be considered 'mature' but l like it" Perhaps the internal splattering that is going on is the collision of

one mission: making a picture out of words+

another: tell a story, or deal with the uncontrollable flow of storytelling

or, maybe: the wall of sound IS the sound of signal becoming noise (this)

SPLATTER.

Scream. Shattered. Splattered.

"The difference between the communist and capitalist systems is that, although both give you a kick in the ass, in the communist system you have to applaud, while in the capitalist system you can scream. And I came here to scream." Reinaldo Arenas, shortly after arriving in Miami, 1980.

All this chitter-chatter, chitter-chatter, chitter-chatter 'bout
